The Secretary General shall exercise all the powers delegated to him/her by the Chairman, the Central Committee and/or the General Council/ Congress.  S/He shall exercise all the powers and discharge all the duties laid down and incidental to the enforcement of party constitution and rules & bye-laws made there-under.  In addition to the Chairman, the General Secretary shall issue policy statements and attend as well as initiate high level meetings, contacts & events for the advancement of party objectives.  S/he shall be assisted by all the secretaries of committees and office bearers of district level organizations as well as the party wings, forums and fronts.  He in collaboration with the Treasurer, and under due supervision of the Party Chair Person, shall operate and maintain party accounts and authorize due expenditure from the same. The General Secretary shall be eligible for 3 tenures of 2 years each consecutively.
